HALIE WARMOTH, company dancer
Halie Warmoth is an established dance-maker, choreographer, and educator. After living away the past ten years, she has made her way back to South Bend, IN with her family. Halie grew up dancing at her family’s studio, Flints Dance Studio, training and teaching various styles of dance. Halie then went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Ball State University earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance. There, she had the great opportunity to work closely with artists such as Sidra Bell, Alex Springer and Xan Burley, and Doug Varone and Dancers. Halie has taught at various dance studios, including Indy Dance Academy in Indianapolis, IN and Dublin Dance Centre and Gymnastics in Columbus, OH. Halie has taught many ages and dance forms both at the competitive and performance based levels. During her time at Dublin Dance Centre and Gymnastics, Halie became the Tap Director and Program Coordinator. Her focus was to create a safe, educational, and welcoming environment where dancers felt heard and seen while nourishing personal growth and self-expression, setting them up for success at a professional level. Most importantly, she wanted to spread the pure joy of tap dance with her community.
Professionally, Halie has danced for companies such as Phoenix Rising Dance Company under the direction of Justin Sears, Co-Founded, choreographed for, and performed with Crossroads Dance Indy in Indianapolis, IN, and has also continued freelance work in the Midwest region. She was also the choreographer of Comtra Theatre’s variation of, “Beauty and the Beast” under the direction of Tom McLoughlin during her time in Pittsburgh, PA.
This is Halie’s first season dancing with New Industry Dance. She most recently performed in FIELDWORKS Dance Festival and will perform in “The Firmament” in June. As a mover, Halie is interested in exploring the endless possibilities of creation and collaboration. Focusing on the natural release of the body moving organically through the space both as an individual and collectively. Halie is grateful to be performing again after taking time off, becoming a mother, and living across the region for numerous years. Her hope is continue to find the beauty in balance as a mother, wife, educator, and mover.
