Saturday, April 11
Pilates for Dancers
9am - 10 am
Madeline williamson
This mat Pilates class is designed to attune dancers to activation of the deep core and supporting movement through breath. We will focus on full-body strength, pelvic stability, and spinal articulation, with modifications available to make this class accessible to dancers of all abilities.
Note: Bring a mat if you have one! We will have extras if not.
Contemporary Floorwork
10:15 AM - 11:30 AM
Róisín O’Brien
This class will focus on fundamentals of moving in and out of the floor with ease, culminating in a longer sequence at the end of class. Expect lots of rolling and energetic music! Loose, covered clothing recommended.
Afro-Contemporary (Intro to Wade in the Water)

Pierre Batiste
This class celebrates a variety of Afro-Contemporary movement styles. Drawing inspiration for Kathryn Dunham's Afro-Contemporary technique which features spinal fluidity and undulation, Talawa technique, an Afro-Polycentric dance style that focuses on isolations and West African-based movement, this class emphasizes the importance of the small details that make a dance like Wade in the Water dazzling to watch.
Improvisational Scene-Building
1:30 PM - 2:45 PM

Take a peek into our company process. This class brings together tools of movement composition, theater, improvisation, and play in order to pique curiosity and generate ideas. From this act of discovery, we can then create material for dance and theater performance. We begin with basic concepts for scene building and move into practice with improvising scenes. After a quick pause for discussion, we will begin to set a repeatable performance that mixes choreography with scores for improvisation. At the end, we will perform for each other. Class will involve working all together and in small groups.

Vinyasa Yoga

Autumn Mist Belk
Incorporating meditation, breath work, and movement, this yoga class includes a mix of strengthening, stretching, and relaxing asana designed to find freedom and balance between moving with the breath and resting in stillness.
Intermediate Ballet

Lauren Mulhern
Designed for dancers with intermediate to advanced ballet experience, this class offers a full barre and centre with influences from ABT-style training and the Vaganova method.
Modern Workshop : Dynamic Tension
12:00 PM - 1:15 PM

This modern class draws from classical Graham and Taylor techniques to explore breath and tension as a means of achieving dynamic range. Class will progress from a full-body warm-up and traveling sequences to more athletic jumps and floorwork, offering opportunities to personally investigate the material in the body.
Partnering Class
1:30 PM - 2:45 PM
Chloe ilene misner & joanna whitmyer
This open and welcoming partnering class is for every-BODY. We will explore the fundamentals of weight sharing, physical connection, and deep listening.
Class will move at a moderate, accessible pace, beginning with a gentle improvisational warm-up and progressing into exercises in weight sharing and initiating body contact. We’ll incorporate movement material to build trust and responsiveness, and conclude with a blind duet exercise meant to heighten sensory awareness and connection.
