New Industry Dance is seeking movers interested in collaborating on a community project made possible by the support of the Indiana Arts Commission, a state agency. The project will culminate in a public performance Spring 2020. No prior dance or performance experience is necessary.

The creation process will take place on Thursday evenings throughout the year, in place of The Laboratory for our 2019-2020 season.

If interested, please email with your name, availability, movement experience, and why you are interested in this project. Please use the subject line COMMUNITY PROJECT.

First cast meeting will take place on Thursday, September 19 at 7:00pm at the Potawatomi Conservatory.

About the Project:
New Industry wants to collaborate with artists in the community to create dance work about subject matter and topics important to our community. The beginning of this project will include verbal discussion about the work we want to make together and why it is important.

Two Open Community Forums will take place for those interested in participating in dialogue about the content of the project, but who are not interested in performing in the project. Dates for these forums will be released soon.

Open Call will also open to other artists who would like to be involved in some way, including but not limited to: musicians, poets, writers, visual artists, graphic designers, fashion artists, photographers. If interested in being involved in the project, please email with a description of how you might wish to collaborate. Please use the subject line PROJECT COLLAB.
